Task 2 - Interior Detailing / Furniture

In last week's task given, we were asked to sketch the furniture chosen by lecturers with an additional sketch; it could be a plan, section, detail or 3-dimensional perspective view sketch. Since we were taught "Detail Drawings Specification" during the lecture, we have to include specifications; i.e. measurements (L X W X Ht/Thk), material, methods of joinery, installation, fastening and finishes to the furniture given.

Task 3 - Observation Sketch

In Task 3, we are required to go for a site visit at suggested ovation, i.e. Ikea, and observe three different types of furniture including chair or seating unit, table, and a cabinet.
Students are given the task to measure the accurate sizes as well as to take photo(s) of selected furniture. After that, we have to produce sketches of the selected furniture to the B5 Journal Sketchbook . Minimum of two sketches together with specifications have to be arranged in each page and the photos of each furniture have to be pasted on respective page together with the sketches as a proof. We are also required to choose a different type of materials for each three furniture selected.

Riveted joinery - chair.

Task 6 - Individual Reflection on Project Two

In project 2, we were given a period of two weeks time to do measurements and to look into the  building details and environment at the 3K Sports Complex in Subang Jaya. The information collected is then used to produce a detailed report together with a set of drawings of the site. This assignment is a group work project consisting of 4 group members, work is allocated evenly among us; i.e. Agnes and Carmen are assigned to do the report, whereas Aaron and I are responsible with the drawings

While working with my task, it is quite challenging for me because I'm not very good in doing clean and detail layout drawings, with the right lightweight. By completing my tasks in this assignment, I get to learn more about measuring the site and looking into building as well as drawing details. I also learnt to relate the basic principles and conventions of drawing skills which acts as a communication tool in the construction industry.

Overall, tasks are distributed fairly and there is no miscommunication throughout our progress of completing this assignment. Everyone managed to complete their own work respectively and make it on time for submission.
